Complaint Forms and Resources

How to use complaint forms, consumer organizations, and administrative channels to defend your rights.

The Complaint Form

It is an official document that any establishment open to the public is required to have and provide when a consumer requests it.

How Does It Work?

  1. Request the form at the establishment (they cannot refuse)
  2. Fill out the form describing the facts
  3. 3 copies are generated: one for you, one for the establishment, one for the Administration
  4. Submit your copy to the Municipal Consumer Information Office (OMIC)

What Happens Next?

The Administration evaluates the complaint and can:

  • Mediate between the parties
  • Initiate disciplinary proceedings if there's a violation
  • Refer to consumer arbitration

Consumer Organizations

  • OCU (Consumer and User Organization): Spain's largest
  • FACUA: focused on public complaints and campaigns
  • CECU, ADICAE (specialized in banking)

  • Legal advice included
