How deadlines are calculated
Business days (art. 182 LOPJ): Days on which courts are open to the public. Saturdays, Sundays, every day from 24 December to 6 January inclusive, and national, regional and local public holidays are excluded, as well as August for most procedural acts, with the exception of the social-order proceedings listed in art. 43.4 LRJS.
Calendar days: All days of the year without exception. Used primarily for limitation periods and certain substantive deadlines under the Civil Code.
Start of computation (Art. 151 LEC): Deadlines begin on the day after notification or publication of the triggering act. If the last day falls on a non-working day, the deadline extends to the next working day.
Regional holidays: This calculator includes fixed national holidays only. Regional and local holidays vary; always check the official calendar of your court.
