Where does the advantage come from?

The difference is not the base model. It's the verified legal corpus.

Why are there two published figures?

In some blog posts you'll find 98.3%. Here we publish 99.3%. It's not an error; they are two different tests on the same official exam.

Test A: 100 questions (2024+2025)

Three sessions, more jurisdictional competence questions (LOPJ). Harder and more representative. This is the official figure.

Question about LOPJ Arts. 38-42 (inter-jurisdictional conflicts). The model retrieves the correct provisions but picks the wrong option on a very specific civil vs. administrative jurisdiction conflict scenario.

None of the errors are fabricated hallucinations. 100% of failures are incorrect disambiguations of real norms or reforms not yet incorporated into the corpus. This is Lexiel's commitment: traceable errors, not fabricated answers.

"I evaluated the answers in completely blind mode, without knowing which tool generated each response. Lexiel was the only one that consistently included the exact article citation and ruling number, not a paraphrase. In 20 years of practice, that's what differentiates a professional brief from an amateur one."

Frequently asked questions

What every attorney asks before trusting a legal AI.

Can I cite Lexiel answers in a court brief?+

Lexiel gives you the original citation (article, ruling number, ECLI). You cite that official source, not Lexiel. The AI is your research tool, just like a legal search engine; the responsibility to verify always falls on the attorney. No software exempts you from that ethical obligation.

What if the BOE amends a law and the corpus hasn't been updated yet?+

The corpus is updated with each BOE publication via automated scraping. Typical lag is 24-48h. For very recent reforms, Lexiel indicates the date of the last indexed version in the citation. The single question we missed in the current benchmark (1 out of 150) involves jurisdictional competence disambiguation; documented openly in the errors section.

How do I verify that the citation provided is correct?+

Each answer includes the exact text of the source fragment with its full reference (BOE-A-XXXX, ECLI:ES:TS:...). You can go directly to the BOE or CENDOJ with that identifier and compare. If there is a discrepancy, there is a report button on every answer.

Is using client data in Lexiel GDPR-compliant?+

Yes. Data is processed on servers within the EU (Spain). Lexiel does not train models on user data. Each organization has its own isolated space. The DPA is available for legal review. For firms with clients in regulated sectors (banking, healthcare), we recommend reviewing the DPA with your DPO before incorporating personal data.

Can Lexiel be wrong even with RAG active?+

99.3% accuracy means 1 incorrect answer out of 150. We document exactly which one and why. The advantage over a generic AI is not infallibility : Lexiel errors are traceable (real norm disambiguation, not fabricated answers) vs. a generic LLM that can invent non-existent articles.

Is the benchmark methodology auditable by third parties?+

Yes. The questions come from official exams with answer keys published by the Ministry of Justice in the BOE; anyone can replicate the test. If you are a competing legal AI and want to compare results using the same methodology, contact us at benchmark@lexiel.ai.

Are you a competing legal AI?

The methodology is public and reproducible. Use the same official questions and share your results. We will update the comparison table with any verified result.

The Judiciary Competition is one of the most competitive in the Spanish legal system: limited seats (~100-200/year), thousands of candidates, and very high cut-off scores. The knowledge test is only one phase of the full evaluation.
