Spain combines the WADA World Anti-Doping Code, RD 641/2009 and Law 3/2013 AEPSAD (Spanish Agency for Health Protection in Sport).
Sanctioning procedure
- Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) or missed whereabouts
- Notification to athlete, right to request B-sample analysis
- Hearing before AEPSAD
- Resolution with sanction (generally 4 years for serious violations)
TAS/CAS appeal
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne hears appeals against AEPSAD decisions. Deadline: 21 days. The award is final and binding except appeal to Swiss Federal Tribunal.
