Organising club liability

The organising club is liable for injuries suffered by participants and spectators during sporting events, under Art. 1902 Cc (tort liability) and Art. 1903 Cc (liability for employees and security services).

Mandatory federation insurance (Law 39/2022)

Law 39/2022 on Sport requires federations to take out collective insurance covering accidents for registered athletes. Insurance covers death, permanent disability and medical expenses.

Spectator injuries

Spectators have specific protection under Law 19/2007 against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport and RD 203/2010 on sports facilities.

Lexiel assists with sports injury claims, both for injured athletes and affected spectators.
