Invoicing for lawyers with debt ageing and automatic payment reminders

Invoicing is the part of a lawyer's work that is least enjoyed, and chasing an awkward non-payment without straining the relationship with the client is even worse. The result: invoices issued late and unpaid ones that nobody chases for months.

In a firm that does not measure collections, the problem is invisible until cash runs short.

How Lexiel solves it, step by step

Lexiel connects invoicing with the case and the hours, and keeps an eye on collection for you.

1. Open Invoices. At the top you have the totals: pending collection, overdue, collected this month and invoices issued (in the demo, 15 invoices and €7,367 pending).
2. Create a New invoice or press Generate pending to invoice the recorded work. The invoice applies VAT, IGIC or IPSI and income tax withholding according to the territory, with series and recurring invoices.
3. Read the ageing of pending debt, broken down into 60 to 90 days and over 90 days.
4. The P&L, Recurring and VeriFactu tabs complete the panel; you can export to CSV or in AEAT format.
5. Lexiel runs an escalation of payment reminders at 7, 14 and 30 days after the due date.

What it does not do

• Sending the reminders has not been tested with real sends: no email went out during measurement.
• VeriFactu is not active in production: submission to the tax agency is being switched on in phases.
• Online card payment of the invoice is off until Stripe Connect per firm is in place.
