How deadlines are calculated
Business days (Art. 182-185 LEC): Days on which courts are open to the public. Saturdays, Sundays and national public holidays are excluded, as well as August for most procedural acts.
Calendar days: All days of the year without exception. Used primarily for limitation periods and certain substantive deadlines under the Civil Code.
Start of computation (Art. 151 LEC): Deadlines begin on the day after notification or publication of the triggering act. If the last day falls on a non-working day, the deadline extends to the next working day.
Regional holidays: This calculator includes fixed national holidays only. Regional and local holidays vary; always check the official calendar of your court.

When does a procedural deadline start?

Does August count as a working month?
No. August is non-working for most procedural acts (Art. 183 LEC). Exceptions: urgent family proceedings, interim measures, habeas corpus and other proceedings declared urgent.
